Dial an Order · for private hire

Every booking answered, at three in the morning too.

The assistant books cars for your firm — where from, where to, when and how many — quotes your own tariff, holds the fare on a card if you want it, and sends each booking to your controller's board. Your firm stays the licensed operator.

£79 a month and 10p for each booking your firm receives, ex-VAT, added to an assistant plan from Growth. In early access: ask below.

What your callers get

Answered, read back, and on its way to you

Picked up at the right door

A house number and postcode, read back letter by letter, or a place the caller names — a station, a pub, a terminal.

Your tariff, your fixed fares

Per mile and per minute, a minimum, a night surcharge, a percentage for a bigger car, and fixed fares to the airports you name.

“Where's my car?” answered

Callers who ring back hear what your board says: confirmed, a driver assigned, on the way, outside.

How it works

Four steps, and the first is yours

1. Your areas and your tariff

Pickup areas by postcode, how far you go, your cars and your fares.

2. The caller books

Where from, where to, when, how many; the fare from your tariff, said as “about” unless it is fixed.

3. A card, if you want one

Held on the caller's own phone for a car due today, saved for the day before for a pre-booking. Only the fare is taken, after the journey.

4. To the board

Your controller confirms, assigns a driver, and marks it done — with a chime for each new booking.

Questions

Short answers

Who is the operator?

Your firm. The assistant takes the booking on your behalf, says so if asked, and each booking records your licence and that the assistant took it.

Does the assistant take card numbers?

Never. It texts a link to Stripe's own page; the card goes into your own Stripe account. Nothing is taken until the journey is done, and never more than was held.

What if the fare comes to more than the hold?

The hold is the quote plus a margin you set, for waiting and detours. Anything beyond it is shown on the board for the driver to collect.

Does it work with my dispatch system?

Today it works from its own board, which your controller keeps open beside yours. Tell us which system you use: connecting to it comes with the first firm that asks.

Will it cancel a car that is on its way?

No. It offers to put the caller through to your office instead.

Is it on sale?

It is in early access: we switch it on for each firm ourselves, and nothing is charged for it until it goes on sale. Ask below.
